Born and raised in Alberta, I moved to B.C. in 1999 and immediately realized that I had been born in the wrong part of the country. I completed my degree in English Literature and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, and then moved to Vancouver, where I have lived ever since, save a brief and really fun stint in Toronto, in 2007. My CV is here.
To pay the bills, and because people keep asking, I do web project management, copy-writing, and other online communications work (always with a social change angle of some kind, and often centered around Drupal websites). Most of my current employment is through Communicopia, a fabulous company that I love working with. I'm also heavily involved in Web of Change, which brings together three of my loves – social change, personal development, and technology.
I also teach yoga, and founded Yoga for Geeks in early 2006, with the aim of making yoga useful and accessible to people who spend too much time at their computers. Other passions include knitting, photography, bodywork, and spending time in wilderness.
